Eight rigs gathered around the clubhouse at The Vineyard RV Park in Vacaville California for a February 16th and 17th 2007 outing. Everyone had made it in by early evening including Brian and Carol Roberts new 26.5 Sunset Creek Travel Trailer. Friday night dinner was Round Table Pizza and home made salads and Cricket's delicious birthday cake .The pizza even got to the clubhouse 10 minutes early. It was relaxing not to go out. After dinner our 31 tournament began. Ken Collins was the winner. (A first time win!).
Saturday was gorgeous. We had sunny shirtsleeve weather all weekend as several people looked over the new Nut Tree, or visited Jellybelly Factory, or the Budweiser Plant. There were also quite a few of us who visited and hung out at the clubhouse. Ken Collin's aluminum can wind twirlers now adorn several rigs thanks to his patient lessons. Saturday night’s dinner started with delicious appetizers and continued on to roasts from Tahoe Joes accompanied with salads side dishes and desserts. The management of the park furnished us with two bottles of wine and a wonderful thank you for coming to the park. We had several people arrive for dinner for a total of 22 people. After dinner we gathered for 2 separate games of 31. Shirley Watkins and Marsha Lee (first time winner) were our lucky winners this evening. The 31 games were played amongst the evening's decorations of valentine tablecloths and blue stars to represent both Valentine's Day and President's Day.
Sunday we had a breakfast meeting. Four rigs left for home and four rigs stayed for Sunday. Sunday evening we headed over to the e Buckhorn in Winters. You might say the place has animal magnetism as well as good food. (There is an abundant supply of horned animal heads on the walls). After dinner we decided one more 31 game couldn't hurt us. Brian was our big winner this time. It was fate He almost decided to not play but now his "31 game coffer" is replenished.
Monday morning we hooked up and reluctantly started home. The weekend was lots of fun. Thank-you to everyone for lots of great food and wonderful help.
